HairBench tests at-home scalp-care and hair-growth tools and explains what the research actually supports. We buy the products, use them for weeks, and score them against criteria we publish before we apply them. Separately, we summarise published studies in plain language, say how strong the evidence is, and link to every source so you can check it yourself.
Who writes it
Articles are written by health writers, and anything making a claim about hair or scalp biology is checked by a medical reviewer with relevant clinical qualifications. Every post names its author and, where reviewed, its reviewer, with their credentials on their profile page. Every score names the person who did the testing.
How we pay for it
Reviews and roundups contain affiliate links. If you buy through one we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. That is the whole business model, and it is why we are explicit about it: what we earn never changes which products we test, what we score them, or what we say about them. Our editorial policy sets out the rules we hold ourselves to.
What it is not
